FOOTBALL VIS CUP

14th December 16

On the 2nd of December, we took part in the Football VIS CUP (the Valencia International Schools Cup). We started to run this competition a few years ago, when a group of heads of PE from different International school of Valencia region (including myself), decided to meet together to try and design a Fixtures calendar. The idea was to increase participation in Competitive Sport Events and therefore improve activity level. This would have an impact on students Physical, social and emotional health. Despite each school had a very busy calendar, we came up with four big different events we could do every year: the basketball cup, the football cup, the athletics cup and the swimming cup. Since then, we meet every year to discuss the positives and the negatives about that year’s events and try and see what we could improve for the following one.

The schools taking are: ASV, Caxton Collage, BSValencia, BSAlzira, Los Olivos, Cambridge House, La Cañada and BSVillarreal.

Miss Vanessa Renau. Head of PE at the British school of Vila-real.

On Friday 2nd of December, some of our students took part in the football VIS CUP representing our school. As the captain of the KS4 boys’ team I would like to announce that even though we only won one match from the three we played, the team I represented showed courage and effort against really skillful teams. It was a nice experience and we all hope to repeat next year!

Mateo Beltran, Y11. KS4 Boys Football Captain.

On Friday 2nd of December, some of us took part in a football competition, the VIS CUP. We competed against other International schools in Valencia . Our senior team got in 5th place. Nevertheless, I truly think the team performed at a high level against very skillful teams; and what is most important, fair played was shown in all games.  As the captain of the team, I can honestly say I felt proud of all the girls in the team. I am 100% sure that all of us will miss the team next year when being in university.

Alejandra Benages, Y13. Senior Girls Football Captain.
